Watch This: Video Recap of New Attitude

My friend Shelly made this awesome video about our time at New Attitude!

For those who are considering New Attitude for next year, start praying and saving now! Listen to the messages from Na 08 and check out the Na Website! I was so blessed by the messages, worship, and fellowship. I'm excited about the work God is doing in my heart!

New Attitude Worship: Raw Video!

Here is one of the videos I took at the conference, not very good, but you can get a glimpse of what we experienced! The singing is hard to hear, but the song is "Happy Day" by Tim Hughes. Fusion people, ya'll remember this one!

Graduation and New Attitude! Recap and Photos!!

What a busy couple of weeks this has been!

First off was my graduation on the 17th! It was wonderful. The ceremony was very nice and I was so blessed by all the people that came to see me "walk across" the stage and then later came and helped my celebrate at my house! I'm so grateful to all the families that came and served and made my graduation celebration a great time!

After graduation I had a week 'til the New Attitude Conference. So I got some time to sleep and read.
On Friday, the 23rd. We attended the graduation of my friend, Leslie. We had a great time rooting her on and the ceremony was very cool. I'd never been to a private school graduation before and I really enjoyed the speaker. And there was cake!! ( ok, I'm really loving cake these days, especially if it has lots of frosting)

Next was Saturday, the weekend I'd been looking forward to since this time last year!!! My flight left in the afternoon and I got the privilege to be on the same plane with my roommates.
It was so exciting to see downtown Louisville full of New Attitude stuff and people! Over the next four days, We got to instructed and most importantly, challenged by Josh Harris, Mark Dever, Al Mohler, CJ Mahaney, Eric Simmons, and John Piper.

One message that really impacted me was Mr. Mahaney's sermon entitled: The Troubled Soul: God's Words and Our Feelings. Mr. Mahaney made a point that many times we listen to our souls instead of talking to them. He went on to explain that we are one of our biggest influences. Instead of listening to our sinful selves, we must go to His Word and minister to our souls with the promises that He gives us in his Word. One of my favorite quotes :"When we cannot trace God's hand, we must trust God's Heart". This message also challenged me to memorize Psalms 42, this chapter ends with hope in Christ in troubles time,

Verse 11:Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him,
my salvation and my God.

The weekend was full of reconnecting several old friends and it was a pleasure to spend sometime with some people from several of the Sovereign Grace Churches in Texas. I got to see some friends, whom I had not seen since 2002 at another Sovereign Grace Conference. I was so great seeing them after so many years!

I also got to reconnect with people I met last year at Fusion!

The time of worship was amazing, and I was going to upload a video I took during one of the session, but it's not working! I'll try again later. I bought the new New Attitude band's new cd Looked Upon, which contained many songs that we sang at Na. The lyrics are very Gospel Centered and the sound is very keen. :c)
I was soo blessed by my time there and this is not the end of my post about my experience there. I hope to blog more soon on several points of application I was challenged on and some reviews of some books and cds I bought in the very cool New Attitude bookstore. I am eagerly looking forward to how God will continue to challenge me by what I received at the conference. I can't wait til Na 2009 in Baltimore!

Here is my Na album( warning..lots of pictures!)

Na!

New Attitude is in two days!!

I'm sooo excited about what God is going to do there!

I'm also pretty excited about traveling, rooming, and hanging out with her, her and her :c)

This is my first time at the New Attitude Conference. I've listen to Na messages , heard from attendees and read magazine articles for years. Now its finally my turn to go! I'm so grateful to God for allowing me the opportunity to go and experience New Attitude. I've never heard Josh Harris and John Piper and several of the other speakers live before, so I'm really stoked about hear them preach on the Word of God! I also feel so fortunate be be able to be in the company of so many like-minded young adults!

School, New Attitude, and an Update

School starts tomorrow! I finally got my the book for my English class in the mail today. We ordered from an Amazon seller and it took forever!! We were suppose to get is somtime around Christmas, but the seller basically forgot to ship it...they finally shipped last Tuesday and I'm so glad it got here before tomorrow! My classes are spaced about two hours apart, so I'll be spending some extra time on campus. I'm going to have to work on self-discipline and train myself to work and not be distracted by all the going-ons of campus! I'll be mainly spending time out of class in the library and it's going to be tempting to put aside my textbooks and pick up a novel!

Last Tuesday, registration for the New Attitude conference opened! This year the topic is Scripture:

This year at Na 08 we’ll rediscover the well-worn pages of our Bibles. We’ll spend time considering the certainty, sufficiency, and relevance of God’s word- that it may become to us a joy and our delight.
-from New Attitude

I'm soooooo excited! I'm praying and saving, taking all the appropiate steps to be ready to attend!
John Piper, C.J. Mahaney, Josh Harris- just a taste of the amazing speakers that will be there!

Check out this nifty video:

Update: Dad came home from the hospital last night. He's feeling well and is looking forward to getting back to work. He has medication that is working to regulate his blood pressure and lower his thyroid levels. Thanks for your prayers!

Much Love,

Update!

So I'll set my sights upon You,
set my life upon Your praise;
never looking to another way.
You alone will be my passion,
Jesus, You will be my song:
You will find me longing after You.

Ah, a fabulous song!

There have been alot of people sick at church..especially this Sunday, even Pastor VanWright wasn't well enough to teach this morning. They definitely need your prayer! So my dad shared a testimony about servanthood and we had extended worship(which I always enjoy!). It's really neat, we got some Na( http://www.newattitude.org/) Conference Promo shirts today. They're awesome!

;c)

On Friday Allyson and I went the awesome, Kari Perez's 18th birthday party which included a stop at Denny's and a scavenger hunt at Wal-mart. It was fabulous fun!
Kari is top row, second from left.

She is like the first of our history group gals to reach the "big 18"! Go her! It's so scary to realize that by the end of this year Sarah, Emily, Kari, Leslie, and I will all be 18! Only God and my parent's can prepare me to be an adult!

TheRebelution.com: The Modesty Survey

I'd like to direct you to the Modesty Survey! It is finally open and I'd like to suggest the ladies go and check it out. Some of it maybe helpful. :c) It was very interesting to read through some of the results and text messages. I am continually reminded modesty starts in the heart and God's word must continually be our guide on how we dress.

Blog Review

http://solofemininity.blogs.com/

I'd like to recommend this blog to all singles! Ms. Carolyn McCulley authors this blog, she is also the writer of the book: Did I Kiss Marriage Goodbye? She has some great encouragement for singles who want to wait on God and serve Him by being single. I check it everyday and she really has some great posts.

I'm glad I finally got this updated! So I'll leave you with a song we sang at church today. It's one of my fav's!!

You bought me, saved me, cleansed me, changed me;
I just want to thank you now my Lord, for what You’ve done.

You loved me, filled me, touched me, healed me;
I just want to thank you now my Lord, for what You’ve done.

You’re slow to anger and abounding in love.
Though my sins are many, I’ve been washed in Your blood,
And through Your death on the cross at Calvary,
I am free, free indeed!
