Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, Friends! I pray that God blesses you and yours as you reflect on His amazing grace and the birth of our Beautiful Savior!

Love,

Isaiah 9:6-7:

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.

Party, Party!

This is going to be a long post full of pictures!

Wednesday:
The Copple's hosted the care group Christmas party at their home. We ate lots! But I think every one's favorite part was gingerbread(graham cracker) house decorating!

Lots of Chocolate and artistic creativity was revealed!

We sang Christmas carols, chatted over hot stew and ate lots of yummy goodies!

As you can see our care group is pretty small. Our small group has grown and then diminished at various times and seems to be ever changing! I really enjoy the families we get to relate to in our care group.

Friday:

We couldn't let the Christmas season get by without getting together! Though our history co-op no longer meets, we joined together for a reunion of sorts and had a Christmas party!

Exchanging Gifts:

Ornament Exchange:

Oh wow, it was fun. The guys seemed to end up with more feminine gifts: Daniel got a shoe, Logan a "Red Hat Society" snowman, and Michael a hulaing santa( or was it a snowman?) Needless to say, there was a lot of exchanging going on! The girls always exchange presents and I got a lot of nifty gifts and a extraordinary amount of chocolate.

I love people! Christmas make it a lot easier to gather with people I haven't seen in awhile!
I hope you've got all your shopping done and don't have to venture out in the Christmas Eve rush. Tomorrow morning we start baking all our Christmas desserts!

Much Love and Merry Christmas,
Adrienne Renea

What's Going On?

It's been awhile:

1. Finals have come and gone! English was easy and no studying was necessary. Spanish involved a lot of studying and I'm sure I didn't study enough! The exams themselves were not that hard. In the end, I have an A in English and a B in Spanish. I'm hoping to get the Spanish grade up to an A next semester!

2. We're registered for spring '08 classes...yes, you heard correctly, "we"! Chris will be joining me at Cy-Fair in the spring to take English 1301! He's registered and eager to work! I will be taking Honors English 1302 and Beginning Spanish II. I'm really looking forward to the Honors English class. The instructor is really nice and it looks to be a interesting class! The way my class schedule is structure, I'll be going from school, and straight to work. Tuesday and Thursday will be busy days!

3. Christmas is here!

Our Christmas Tree:

The Nativity

Allyson and I attended a Christmas Party last Wednesday:

Alison and Allyson:

I so enjoy relating to many of my friends who I haven't seen much of since school started. We've got a couple of more parties coming up, so look forward to more pictures!

I always use the holiday break as an excuse to catch up on movies I haven't had time to see at the theater and on DVD. Last Saturday I went to see August Rush with Sarah and Mrs. Myers. It was a really good. Music lovers would appreciate it, especially. I'm looking forward to seeing National Treasure: Book of Secrets and The Great Debaters. Movies are always a great time to eat an extraordinary amount of candy :c)

I'm really excited about seeing the
Fraziers this Sunday! It will be so wonderful to see how big the boys have grown and hear more about living in India.

I hope everyone is enjoying all the excitements of Christmas!
Love much,
Adrienne Renea

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was my parent's 25th anniversary! YaY!
They celebrated with a nice dinner at Babin's Seafood House.

Congratulations Mom and Dad!

1 Corinthians 13

Love is patient; love is kind.
Love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way: it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice in wrong doing, but rejoices in truth.
Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
And now faith, hope, and love abide,
and the greatest of these is love.

"Light's Please"
Luke 2:8-14
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and Saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.(from http://oldghostshome.com/holiday.html)

A White Christmas

This is one of the things that we must only dream about here in South Texas.

I always watch this movie at Thanksgiving, it's a great way to kick off the Christmas cheer!
The Christmas tree has been put in place, but not decorated.
I actually skipped the annual early-morning Black Friday shopping. Allyson and Mom got up early and visited a few stores. I had a wonderful time sleeping in! Later I went out with Taylor, Allyson and Mom to visit a few other stores. I didn't buy anything on sale, but I had a eggnog latte @ Starbucks! YUM!
Our dryer is broken so we finished up our trip with a stop at Conn's to buy a new dryer.
It's cold! But that doesn't automatically mean I bundle up! I like to enjoy the cold, so though I keep warm, I don't wear heavy, wintry clothes.

Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Give Thanks!!

'Tis almost Thanksgiving!
I really like the term "Thanksgiving" vs. "Turkey Day". "Thanksgiving" make you focus on God and his blessings:

"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever."
-Psalm 107:1

Today is my first day of Thanksgiving break! Last night I went over to Sarah's house and this morning we went shopping in
Rice Village. We went with a plan to start some Christmas shopping, but ...weelll...no, wait...Sarah did get a few gifts, YaY Sarah! We found some really good deals! Oh, well...we had a great time navigating the streets. I'm now home and mom's baking some sweet potato pies.
We are having Thanksgiving dinner with the Yohe's and I'm going to bake a German Chocolate cake! I love all the food of thanksgiving! We always start eating pies the day before Thanksgiving, so we are currently indulging in mom's pies.
Then there's Friday..."Black Friday"
We usually strike out early in Friday morning and get a few deals. Kohl's and Target have some interesting sales.
What are your Thanksgiving plans? Are you going shopping in Friday?

Have a wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving!!!

Jesus is Alive!

This song brings me close to the Cross and Christ's sacrifice!

Come close, listen to the story
About a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave his only Son just to save us

The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Fathers broken heart
Tears were filling heavens eyes
The day that true love died,
The day that true love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn’t move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that true love died,
The day that true love died

Search your hearts
You know you can’t deny it
Lose your life just so you can find it
The Father gave his only son just to save us

Jesus is alive
He rose again

Week Wrap-Up

Earlier this week, I got to vote for the first time in the State Election! I enjoyed reading about the issues and giving an informative vote for the state constitutional amendments up for election. There were also some bonds up for passing in our county. I truly believe in few taxes and states rights. So I voted against all tax increases and all other unnecessary money allotments. Sadly, the voter turnout was only 10%. I hope you took advantage of your right as a American citizen and voted on Tuesday!

This weekend Dad and Chris went to
The Pursuit: Every Mans Call to Biblical Masculinity in Gilbert, Arizona. They will be returning this evening. I wish they'd taken a camera! Oh well, we'll just have to hear a verbal recounting of the conference.

I've been reading these two books as I get ready to write my last major paper for English class. I'm writing a position research paper on U.S. Relations with the U.N., I'm taking the position of U.S. pullout of the U.N. I really like learning about this kind of stuff, but as I'm getting ready to write my draft...I'm finding that it's a tad bit more difficult than I thought. I know I can do it, but it'll definitely be an learning experience for me!
I found of this week that my English teacher is nominating me for the Honors Program English, Rhetoric and Composition II course next semester. That was pretty cool, so now I have to wait until I hear back from the honors program to find out whether or not I've been accepted!

I hope you're enjoy your weekend, so far! I'm afraid mines will be full of the aforementioned research paper. I'm really looking forward to going to church tomorrow!

Church Picnic!

Yesterday, the weather was gorgeous and quite perfect for a picnic! Mr. and Mrs. Shy did a fabulous job of planning all the food and games. The park was really pretty and we had lots of fun playing games and eating good food! This picnic had a twist-it was mostly done(planning, cooking, cleaning) by the men! They did a wonderful job and the ladies had a nice time not worrying about the usual tasks that are involved with a picnic.
Here are some pictures!!

California Fires

Keep the people of California in your prayers. Many have had to evacuate, unsure if their house will be standing when they return. Also pray for the safety of those fighting the fires. Praise God for those who are willing to risk their lives to save others. I pray that God will bless the people of California and that in all of it, God would be glorified.

Praying without ceasing,
